Global Christian Book Fund (GCBF) is a nonprofit ministry dedicated to putting theological books and Bibles into the hands of pastors, Bible school students, and church leaders across the Global South — in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and beyond. We source, ship, and distribute the right resources to the right people, through trusted ministry partnerships on the ground.
Yes. Global Christian Book Fund is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and as a religious institution described in IRC Section 170(b)(1)(A)(i), is exempt from state charitable solicitation registration requirements. While we recognize that needs exist everywhere, the need for resources is greatest in the Global South. This is where the church is growing the fastest and where access to books, Bibles, and theological training materials is most limited. Pastors leading growing congregations in Africa, Asia, and Latin America are often doing so with almost nothing on their shelves.
The short answer: not where we work. In much of rural Africa, Asia, and Latin America, data is expensive, electricity is unreliable, and devices are basic. A pastor in the Central African Republic or rural Madagascar isn’t reading theology on his phone. A physical book travels with him, gets annotated, gets passed on, and lasts decades. The need for printed resources is not going away.
We work closely with our partners to provide the resources they most want and need. In some cases our partners choose the books themselves; in others, we select based on guidelines they supply. Either way, we verify that resources are biblically faithful, contextually appropriate, and available in the recipient’s language. Sending books is easy. Sending the right books is the work.
We partner with ministries whose mission and vision align with ours and whose work reflects our statement of faith. All partners are vetted and have proven track records of effective ministry. Many come to us through referrals from existing partners — a network built on trust over many years of shared work.
We work with all major evangelical publishers, a variety of parachurch and missions organizations, and international publishers who supply books in local languages. You can learn more about some of our partners here.
No. We serve the global evangelical church across its faithful expressions — Baptists, Presbyterians, Anglicans, Pentecostals, and independent churches alike. Our statement of faith reflects the theological convictions of the World Evangelical Alliance.
Every gift supports GCBF’s ministry activities: sourcing books, shipping containers, and coordinating distribution with our partners. We keep overhead low, negotiate publisher discounts, and regularly receive donated books — so your dollar goes as far as possible toward putting resources in ministry leaders’ hands.
We plan and commit to projects months in advance — sourcing books, filling containers, coordinating with partners. Monthly giving lets us say yes when a Bible school or pastor network reaches out, without waiting to raise the funds. It’s the most impactful way to sustain this work.
We welcome partnerships with churches, missions committees, and organizations that want to invest directly in the theological infrastructure of the global church. Contact us to learn about current projects and how a directed gift or partnership could make a difference.
